First Birthday Gift for my niece and nephew:)

My Creation to my niece Prisha and nephew Aarush..A Soft Book..!

Its a book made of cloth and hand painted so that kids cannot tear it..!!! hehe:)

This is the cover page of the book..!
I was very enthusiastic in making something nice for their first birthday... but I just couldn't think of anything different and useful to one year old kids. After a lot of  googles I zeroed on this soft book. When I started making this..Somehow I didn't like what i was making and I had started to loose interest...time was less and office hours increasing..I just got half hour each day just before sleeping to finish this off...but i continued:) .... I'm glad i made this coz i loved the end result:) I hope you'll also like it ...its easy but time consuming ... Do try making it ..!

As I open the book..it looks like this...

I painted Different Shapes on one page and painted a shoe on the other page with real laces so that kids learn to tie laces:)

The next page has a rabbit with a bunny and a sweet squirrel and six clowns with numbers from 1 to 6..
and the other cloth page has a Cat chasing a Rat..lol...and in the background i painted a house and a scenery all with fabric colours with a girl walking down the street with a cake.
I wrote "P" on the girls dress for "Prisha" , my niece.

This is a hand painted pocket:) Its for the kids to keep their li'l li'l stuff in it:)

The last page has colors in the form of Steps with a Rabbit and Squirrel hoping on the steps...
Who'll come first?:-P

Back of the book says....."Drizzling Krafts by Sakshi"

Pebbles...

Ahh...Sun again:)
Did I leave any color in this painting!! ;-P
"Pebbles", is what i call this...has two  girls playing with pebbles on a Sea Shore..what i like the best in this painting is the windy effect on the white tshirt with pink design on it..I'm glad i was successful in getting the right folds as if it is blowing with the wind.. I got this effect with transparent glass liner:)
"Pebbles" takes me back again to my college days.. I guess some renovation was going on at home and i found this big piece of glass removed from a window temporarily..but I made sure it was permanently removed ..hehehe...I simply "captured" the glass piece ...laid it on a few sheets of white chart papers in the living room and hid behind the sofas to start of with this painting so that no one finds me;) This time I drew this picture on four chart papers glued together and without tracing on the glass I started painting directly. Well, dad found me after few hours, and found the glass too:( ..but my drawing on chart paper was almost complete and I was ready with the draft now so he couldn't say anything :):) In the evening went with him on a scooter ride to buy glass colors..!!! got loads of them :) no doubt this painting was going to be too heavy on dad's pocket ..! (PS: Glass painting is an expensive art)
Its again i guess 4ft*2.5ft  painting...I finished it within a week with framing all done!! its too heavy..had to put four nails (two below the painting) to fix it on our drawing room wall.
I hope you all will like it :) post in your feedback and suggestions ...comments and compliments:)

Farewell gift to my sweetest friends

That was a farewell gift to my sweetest friends Sada and Sonal (for their new home sweet home) and  my roomie Shikha:) Don't ask how i made this..I guess the quickest piece of art i did...my last few days in my company as i was getting married in another few days and getting relocated.. Used to back home after work late at night..spend sometime on the painting and that too at my friend's place as we wanted to save time in shifting the painting in the end as its huge..4ft by 2.5 ft i guess... then spend sometime on it before going for work... and on top of it...the excitement of getting married , nervousness, anxiety, late night calls to my fiance (now hubby:), sadness of leaving my friends soon.... twas total mess and total fun:) but we all were so glad the painting came out very colorful...this ones the best till now...and yes..that's not completely my design;-d hehe... coz of shortage of time i..err...copied a bit of design from somewhere..hehe..:) thanks to the original artist too but color scheme is completely original:):)
never got to time to get it framed..Will ask my friends to send me a framed picture for sure...m sure that will be a finished product. I hope you like it:)Miss you guys!!

My First Attempt at Reverse Glass Painting

Sun fascinates me...
Somehow it brings a brightness with its vibrant red , yellow and Orange colors...
That was in my third year of college... April 2005. i still remember i was enjoying the sunny afternoon eating those juicy oranges...and don't know what made me suddenly enthusiastic in the lazy sun...I went in to my room...removed this glass window covering the water cooler..took out my white glass pencil and started to draw on the glass. It was my first attempt and what i draw unintentionally is generally up to my expectations..rather than racking my brains over some thing to draw..:)

That's the design you can see in the picture!! simple yet i like it:)
that's called reverse glass painting because the side of the painted glass goes inside the frame and the final painting is the mirror image of what we actually draw...so we have to be very careful when working with reverse glass paintings...
Tip:  For reverse glass paintings, the minute things like jewellery or facial expressions etc have to be colored first and background later..coz only then they'll be visible from the other side of the glass..!

Will keep you posted with more paintings and crafts..! just getting started:)
